What is the feature/ request?

The ability to cancel reservations.

Requirements:

  • A link or confirmation the guests can confirm/ click
  • A request that an employee can manually cancel

Who will use this system (primary actor)?

  • Guests
  • Employee (secondary actor)

Preconditions

  • Existing reservation

Scenario

**Guest **

  1. Guest receives email confirming their reservation
  2. Guest determines they no longer need the reservation
  3. Guest cancels the reservation
  4. System checks if their cancellation falls within the respective reservation cancellation policy
  5. Guest is issued a refund based on reservation cancellation policy

Employee

  1. Employee receives a request from guest to cancel reservation
  2. Employee checks system/ reservation reports
  3. Employee issues a refund and cancellation in accordance with that reservations policy

Exceptions/ Restrictions

See #9 for reservation restrictions on cancellations.
